Setting up a wallet on the Fantom network

Metamask is a popular wallet to use on Fantom, so this guide will use Metamask as an example. There are other wallets available, and the instructions and uses of those wallets will be similar to Metamask.
  1. 1.
    Download Metamask from https://metamask.io/
  2. 2.
Open the Metamask extension in your browser, it will guide you to create a wallet
  3. 3.
Configure your Metamask wallet to interact with the Fantom network using this guide: https://docs.fantom.foundation/tutorials/set-up-metamask
  4. 4.
Congratulations! You now have a Fantom wallet!

For Binance Chain Users

If you have a Binance account

If you have a Binance account, you can simply withdraw Fantom to your Fantom wallet. To do this, send your BSC tokens to your Binance wallet, convert them to FTM at the exchange as you would with any other token. Then, withdraw the FTM from your Binance account to your FTM wallet address. Remember to select FANTOM as the network.
*Note: sometimes Binance can suspend withdrawal networks for maintenance, so this method may not always be available. If this is the case, go to "If you don't have a Binance account"*
Once the transaction has finalised, you will have FTM in your Fantom wallet. You can now move to the section entitled: SpookySwap

If you don’t have a Binance account

If you don’t have a binance account, you’ll need to set up Metamask for the BSC and send BNB to it. A guide to set up the BSC network can be found here:
You’ll also need to use SpookySwap Bridge. For this you’ll also need some Fantom, so go to the section called Fantom Faucet.

For Avalanche Users

Configure your Metamask Wallet to interact with the Avalanche Network

In order to bridge tokens from Avalanche to Fantom Opera, you will need to add the Avalanche network to your newly configured Metamask Wallet.

Send Avax to your Metamask Wallet

Using an exchange or Avalanche Wallet, send your tokens in AVAX to your Metamask Wallet on the Avalanche Network.

Swap your AVAX for MIM

Go to a DEx on the Avalanche network. TraderJoe is a popular option.
Swap your AVAX to MIM. Leave a small amount of AVAX for bridging fees.

Bridge your MIM to the Fantom Opera Chain

Go to Hector DEX. Connect your Metamask Wallet. In the "From" box, choose the Avalanche network and choose the MIM token. In the "To" box, choose the Fantom network and choose the MIM token.
Swap your MIM to the Fantom Network. Then use Hector DEX to swap the MIM to DAI, and then the DAI to HEC.

Ethereum Users

Send ETH to your Metamask Wallet

Using an exchange or Ethereum-compatible Wallet, send your tokens in ETH to your Metamask Wallet on the Ethereum (ERC-20) Network.

Swap your ETH for wETH

Visit a DEX on the Ethereum network. UniSwap is a popular option. In the "swap to" box, search for wETH and select it.
  • wETH is wrapped ETH, a wrapped version of ETH which allows for crosschain operations like bridging
Important: Remember to leave a small amount of ETH to cover transaction fees.

Bridge your wETH to the Fantom Opera Chain

Go to Hector DEX. Connect your Metamask Wallet. In the "From" box, choose the Ethereum network and choose the wETH token. In the "To" box, choose the Fantom network and choose the wETH token.
Swap your wETH to the Fantom Network. Then use Hector DEX to swap the wETH to DAI, and then the DAI to HEC.
